Derren Brown Blackjack Memory Techniques.
With the release of the blackjack movie 21 this past weekend, we take a look at a very interesting memory technique to remember what cards have been dealt and which ones are left.
In his mind, he pictures a room with 52 objects. Each object represents a card, and he has them all memorized and can visualize them in his head. Then Brown adds 3 stickers to each object to make up for the 4 decks that casinos use while dealing blackjack.
Once each card comes up, he removes the stickers until he eventually removes the object from the room. When there are only a few items left in the room, he knows exactly what cards are left and what chances he has of betting big and winning.
A very interesting card counting technique, I wonder if other card counters do something similar. One thing is for sure, you will need one heck of a memory.
