Lately the poker news world has been extremely quiet. Sure there was the big bill that almost went through in Texas to put poker rooms in local race tracks, but this was squashed at the last minute after coming sooo close. Other than that there really hasn’t been a ton of good news lately so it has been hard to keep this blog alive. Sure, Lacey Jones was spotted in a bikini, but I have to give credit to the guys at Wicked Chops Poker for those pics.
I think the reason for the lack of news lately is everyone is ramping up for the 2009 WSOP. Everyone is too busy trying to qualify for a 2009 WSOP Satellite, that they haven’t really been going out as much.
This time of year is always pretty quiet for Poker. The weather is getting nicer, people are busy doing their spring cleaning and poker is being put on the lower end of their priority lists. Can you blame them? Patio season is one of the best times of year, but I think this initial shock of being able to not go out in a Parka will wear off and people will be back to poker in no time.
So what are you up to lately? Am I wrong that poker has been quiet lately, or am I just blind to what has been going on. Post a comment below and let us know what you are doing now that summer is here, or if you are getting ready for the WSOP, post your plans below!

Montreal Poker
Lately we have seen a significant influx in members of our Poker Forum of poker players from one of my favorite places in Canada, Montreal. So, I thought I would tell some of the other members of the forum, a little bit more about this amazing city.
I first started visiting Montreal a several years ago as it was one of the greatest party cities in Canada. But that isn’t all, they also have some of my favorite restaurants, the best shopping in Canada and a cool Casino (Casino de Montreal). The people are very attractive and very friendly, even if you don’t speak the French Language.
Some interesting things about Montreal is the people speak both French and English (though they seem to prefer the French). Though it is not the capital of Quebec (the province where it is located), it is definitely the largest city in the province. One of my favorite things about Montreal is it is the most European city in Canada. Going there makes you feel like you are in another country with its great style and laid back nature.
If you have never visited Canada before, you should not miss Montreal on your visit.
So to close this off, welcome Montreal Poker Players to our Poker Forums. Whether you speak french (check our French Poker Forum) or English, there is something here for you! We look forward to seeing you at our next freeroll!

As the year comes to an end, I just wanted to wish everyone a safe and happy new year. Go out, have some drinks, but just don’t drink and gamble. Learn from my mistakes… it is a really bad idea!
I am very excited and happy about the growth the poker forum has made in the recent months, and have all of you to thank for it. I have some exciting things planned for 2008, so get ready to see this site grow even more! As always this site is for YOU so if there is anything you would like to see or have done, let me know and I will get on it!
Thank you all for your support and see you in 2008!
