New Absolute / UB Commercial

Apparently the old marketing efforts of UB / AP weren’t working, so they have decided to go a new route. Here is the latest commercial from the poker cheating giants:

Thanks to 2+2 poster Al Capwne for posting this video.

Puking At the Poker Table

One player at the PokerStars APPT is probably regretting partying too hard the night before the big event. He spent most of the day at the poker table passed out with his head down, occassionally getting up to glance at his cards.

At one point it got so bad that he actually started puking in his own hat at the poker table.

Even tournament director, Danny Macdonough had some fun with poor guy. He announced over the mic, “This is an official warning for a chucker on table nine. This is not cricket. On the next chuck he gets a round.”

Here is a video with Terrence “Not Johnny” Chan talking about the incident:

US Poker Championship - Creepy Commercial

Came accross this creepy commercial for the 2008 US Poker Championship.  The announcer’s voice sounds like he is using one of those voice recorders from the movie Scream.  Considering the event is a $10,000 buy-in, you would think that the Taj Mahal would spend more than $50 on a commercial for the event to try and lure in some players with lots of money.  This might even be the reason that the prizepool was down over $250k in 2007!

Without futher adieu, here is the US Poker Championship commercial:

Jamie Gold vs. Patrik Antonius - $743k Pot

Here is a classic video from the High Stakes Poker TV Show. Jamie Gold shoves with top set into Patrik Antonius’ nuts. They run the hand 3 times for a pot worth just over $743,000.

I don’t want to spoil the hand, so watch and see what happens:

You Know You Are A Poker Baller When…

PokerNews posted a great video on youtube from this year’s WSOP and how to bling out at the poker tables. Basically they went around the Wynn interviewing store owners about some of their more extravagant items that poker player’s could “blow their bankroll” on. Whether it was $16,000 headphones, or $18,000 jeans (which are delivered in an armored truck!) they showed some of the stuff that only a true baller (or idiot) would blow their hard earned cash on:
