The Brunson Beer Pong Invitational
The third Doyle Brunson Beer Pong Invitational has been set for May 26. As usual it will be held at the Hogs & Heifers in downtown Las Vegas. For the uninitiated, the Brunson Beer Pong is not a poker tournament and the Hogs & Heifers is not a casino. It is a saloon that offers some of the most outrageous action in Sin City. The connection between the Brunson Beer Pong and Poker is obvious. It is hosted by Doyle Brunson the living legend of the game and has a number of poker celebrities participating. The Doyle Brunson Beer Pong has been growing from strength to strength and the timing of the event is such that it lets poker players let down their hair and have a good time ahead of the grueling WSOP schedule.
Beer Pong is a drinking game played in pairs of two. Each team stands at opposing ends of a ping pong table and ten cups are formed in a pyramid at either end of the table. These cups are partially filled with beer. The players have to toss ping pong balls into the cups. When a player succeeds, a player from the opposing team drinks the beer from that cup and removes it from the table. The team that clears all of the opposing team’s cups first is the winner.
The line up for this year’s event is out and makes for some interesting pairings. Full Tilt Poker pros Erica Schoenberg and Erick Lindgren have been paired together and this is no coincidence. Erica has been dating Lindgren after she split with David Benyamine. Vanessa Rousso has been teamed up with husband Chad Brown and will play Erica and Lindgren in the first round. If there is any sporting activity Tiffany Michelle is sure to be around. Her partner is another poker babe Lisa Parsons. These two are not expected to go anywhere, at least not in the Brunson Beer Pong Event.
In the second edition of the Brunson Beer Pong Liv Boeree was the heart and soul of the action though she did not contribute much to the Beer Pong. It is too bad that she is not around this time.
