Biggest Pot in Online Poker ….Let The Bitching Begin!

Peter Jepsen Full TIlt ProOn Wednesday another record was broken, and this time it was for the biggest cash game pot in online poker. Three hands had pots as high as $474,949 another for $476,305 and finally the biggest of them all $499, 037. More importantly were the players involved and according to reports, Tom “durrr” Dwan managed to win the $474,949 pot, however the other two he lost to Jepsen, (aka Peter “Pors” Jepsen a Red Pro with Full Tilt Poker). The record breaking pot was won with Jepsen’s 69 off suit giving him the straight .

Obviously this is huge! The biggest pot prior to this was $465,451 and according to the Poker King it was a hand played two years ago between bad_ip and Fast_Freddie at the $200/$400 NLHE at Ladbrokes. Two days later and durrr is now making accusations against the Full Tilt Pro. According to Jepsen, durrr was later seen that evening at a table with Phil Ivey and expressed his concerns to Ivey that Lars was playing Jepsen’s account and not Jepsen, thus giving Phil an unfair advantage by not knowing who he was up against.

Jepsen took the chat to the forums writing;

“I’m chosing to take this quote personally, because I learned that Durrr told Phil Ivey in the chat on FTP, that he suspected it was not me playing on my Red Pro account the other night (The night I won the “biggest” pot vs Durrr – 499K). I don’t really see why would want to spread ignorant rumours like this. With all the recent multiaccounting / sharing of accounts going on, I take these accusations very seriously. The fact that you made the comment in the CHAT makes it even more inexcusable and without merit. Also, it was made on a table I wasn’t playing myself – so I didn’t even get the chance to respond. If you have a problem I suggest you have FTP check IPs and or betting patterns. Bottom line… Stop whining and ship me an apology, after all it’s okay to finish 2nd to a champ like me :) :)   /Peter ”

Durrr responded claiming that he still believes the pro lent his account to Lars based on the play that night and the fact that he took down such a big pot has nothing to do with what he said. He also believed it based on the number of times that Lars has been caught using new names and although it is not classified as technically “cheating” it could have cost Phil hundreds of thousands of dollars had he not know who he could have been up against. Taken from durrr’s post at 2 + 2;

“In my opinion making sure that someone doesnt get taken advantage of in a highstakes poker game is more important than possibly hurting your feelings if im wrong. Also the fact that whoever was on your account ran well doesnt mean anything as i have no problems accepting losses, or playing anyone you know hunlhe just in case your comment wasn’t in jest….. Normally i wouldn’t have mentioned anything in chat, however in this case i didn’t have much of a choice- because of the ridiculous amount of money on the line.”
