Bluff Europe Launches New Poker Room
Bluff magazine has been serving the interests of the poker industry in the United States for many years. A few years ago they launched Bluff Europe to cater to the growing interest in poker there. The latest issue of Bluff Europe features “durrrr” as king of the nosebleeds on the cover and plenty more action inside. Now Bluff Europe has launched a high class poker and card room at the Mint Casino at Cromwell Road in South Kensington, one of the hottest spots in London. The card room has been named Bluff Europe @ The Mint. It is a stylish, modern card room with eight tables and complimentary tea and coffee.
Last week the launch party was held in lavish style. Bluff Europe writes “Her Majesty the Queen was a bit too busy for the official ribbon cutting so it was left to the current queen of UK poker Liv Boeree to do the honors.” Liv recently won the San Remo EPT event. Other celebrities included double WSOP finalist James Akenhead, former Irish Open champ Neil Channing, Sky Poker host Ed Giddins, former East Ender Michael Greco and double Olympic gold medalist Daley Thompson. Liv welcomed the guests of honor, congratulated Bluff Europe for creating the chic card room and then opened the champagne. This brief ceremony was followed by a freeroll tournament for members of the press. After all they are the ones who will spread the word around.
Michael Caselli, editor-in-chief of Bluff Europe also spoke a few words. He said, “We have great things planned for Bluff Europe @ The Mint. … Thursday nights will be our special Bluff Europe Poker Parties, and we want to invite people down for a taste of Bluff Europe’s and The Mint’s hospitality. … We want to bring the glamor of Las Vegas, the style of Monte Carlo and Bluff Europe’s edginess to Mint.”
Meanwhile this is to remind readers that a private high stakes poker room will open at the Aria Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on May 21. This room is being named The Ivey Room in honor of poker pro Phil Ivey of whom much is expected in the forthcoming WSOP tournament.
