Designer Bracelets for WSOP 2010
The WSOP bracelet is the most coveted prize in poker. The WSOP press release says, “Whether you have eleven like current record-holder Phil Hellmuth or are seeking your first, poker players dream of winning a WSOP gold bracelet and cementing their names in the history books.” In order to commemorate the 40th anniversary of WSOP, each of the 57 winners will be given a designer bracelet and each one will be different. The bracelets will be unveiled for the first time on May 28 at the Rio.
On Tilt Designs has been awarded a multi-year contract to design the bracelets for the Las Vegas and Europe WSOP tournaments. They have in turn engaged the world renowned jewelry designer Steve Soffa. Soffa said, “It’s a tremendous honor to be tasked with creating the foremost trophy for poker players worldwide.” The bracelet design will form the basis for a lifestyle collection of watches, rings, pendants and other custom accessories. This will be a limited and exclusive line called On Tilt: Steve Soffa. Whereas the other items will be on sale, Shane McDowall, CEO of On Tilt Designs said, “The WSOP bracelet is one of the precious few things money can’t buy.”
Each bracelet will be made from 14K solid gold and will be encrusted with diamonds, while the four card suits will be made from red rubies and black diamonds. Special bracelets are being designed for the Main Event winner, the $50,000 Poker Player’s Championship and the Ladies Championship. Where jewelry is concerned the women cannot be left out. The Main Event bracelet will be made from almost six ounces of gold and 550 individual, hand-set diamonds, weighing four carats. Soffa will also create unique collector’s wooden-lacquered display cases for the bracelets. Each bracelet will come along with a certificate of authenticity.
The bracelet award ceremony will take place the day following the conclusion of each event. The On Tilt and Steve Soffa team will be present to hand engrave the player’s name into the back of the faceplate along with other details of that particular event. Players can also request the designers to further customize their new trophy. This is one occasion Phil Hellmuth will not want to miss out on.
