Courts Probe Full Tilt Poker Pros
According to an article at Financial Times, Full Tilt Poker is currently being investigated along with several of its pros by a Federal grand jury in Manhattan. This could have huge effects on the online poker market in the United States where Full Tilt is currently the 2nd largest player behind Pokerstars.
Details of the allegations being made by the grand jury are still very sketchy. Rumour has it that they are trying to investigate the ties with the site and some of its big name pros such as Howard Lederer and Chris Ferguson and their software company TiltWare LLC.
In the article the Los Angeles based civil attorney representing the pros above and the software company stated, “We are not going to comment about a speculative grand jury investigation that we are not aware of.” He also added that Lederer and Ferguson have filed a motion to dismiss the civil case.
Should anything big come about from this it could have a huge impact on the US Government’s war against online gambling sites. In the article well-known gaming attorney Nelson Rose added, “They are waging this war of intimidation. There are not a lot of good statutes, so they go after high-profile targets and try to intimidate everybody.”
