Amanda Is New Bodog Pokerbabe
Online poker rooms usually sign up poker pros as brand ambassadors based on their performances at the tables. But Bodog adopted a new route. Applications were invited through social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. The candidate was obviously expected to know how to play poker, but it was obvious that Bodog was looking more for a Pokerbabe than a Poker Pro. This was confirmed when Bodog announced that their choice was Amanda Musumeci. The response from many quarters was Amanda Who? More people would know her as “Manderbutt”, the moniker she uses at Bodog.com, where she is said to have totaled over $175,000 in winnings by playing MTTs.
Amanda hails from Philadelphia and has studied at Kutztown University. She took to poker there in order to pay her tuition. She met female Poker Pro Anna Wroblewski at The Aussie Millions Poker Championship. Amanda moved to Sin City with Anna, who tutored her in professional poker. John Westra, a friend at Bodog informed her of Bodog’s search; Amanda applied and as they say the rest is history.
Naturally Amanda is ecstatic and has words of praise for her employers. She said, “I’ve spent most of my online poker career playing at Bodog.com, and getting the chance to play as a pro for my favorite room was the opportunity of a lifetime. It also really showed me that, unlike a lot of other rooms, Bodog supports and invests in their players. I couldn’t ask for a better home and look forward to kicking some butt in Bodog’s name.” Amanda has received something of a sobering makeover. From now on she will play as “BodogMander” and not “Manderbutt”.
Now Bodog boasts of one of the most attractive poker teams. Evelyn Ng has the sultry sexuality compared to Amanda’s vibrant appeal. Everyone knows Evelyn can be lethal at the tables, and Amanda will have to prove herself on that count. David Williams left Bodog after winning the 2010 WPT Championships. It would be unfair to say that he was replaced by Amanda. Maybe the two events just happened at the same time.
Amanda has a mission in mind and that is to get more females playing online. In the end she may well be drawing in the males.
