Brunson Speaks Out on Dikshit’s Plea Bargain
Known for speaking his mind when it comes to online poker, Doyle Brunson expressed his opinion over Party Gamings founder Anurag Dikshit (yes that’s his real last name) and his deal with the US government.
Dikshit owns 28% of Party Gaming’s shares, making him the largest shareholder and pleaded guilty two weeks ago and his willingness to pay a fine of $300 million as well as possibly facing two years imprisonment. As most readers know, the witch hunt led by the DOJ has seen other big games such as Sportingbet and Neteller pony up some major cash in an effort to stay out of jail due to violations of the 1961 Wire Act.
In his blog post, titled ‘The most valuable gift you can give another is a good example’. , Brunson calls Dikshit out for what he really is;
“Dikshit was one of the owners of PartyPoker.com and became a multi-billionaire when Party went public. It looks like he would feel a sense of obligation to online poker, the industry that made him a rich man. Instead, he folded up like an accordion and pled guilty to breaking some kind of mystery law and is paying a $300 million dollar fine and a possible two-year jail term.
“It certainly created some ill will from the other online poker sites. I personally can’t imagine what was going through his mind when he made his decision.”
Our favourite comment his post was “One thing for sure, Anurag Dikshit is appropriately named,”

[...] Doyle Brunson’s blogs make interesting reading because they cover more than poker and when they do cover poker they touch upon the larger picture. [...]
