Maria Ho Joins Team UB
Late last week the notorious online poker room UB.com announced that it had a new brand ambassador in the charming poker babe Maria Ho. For many of her fans it was not a question of whether Maria will join UB.com but of when she will join. Because ever since Maria’s soul mate Tiffany Michelle signed up with UB.com, Maria’s entry was inevitable. No one can forget that these two poker babes teamed up for TV reality show The Amazing Race. Also they are doing a private music show together that will debut soon at The Mint. Now they are also playing for the same online poker room.
The simple statement from UB.com read, “With a history of solid performances at a number of major land-based events, including a World Poker Tour final table and World Series of Poker Circuit final table within the last three months, Ho is well deserving of her place on Team UB, the home of 11-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth, acclaimed poker authority Joe Sebok and a number of other top players.” There was the customary reference to Maria being the last woman standing at the 2007 WSOP Main Event. Away from the poker tables, but staying with poker, were references to her hosting various poker events. And away from poker altogether her successes in The Amazing Race on CBS and American Idol on Fox were highlighted.
If Maria fans were looking for an exuberant announcement from the poker babe on Twitter, they must have been disappointed. The message said in a matter-of-fact way, “I am now the newest member of Team UB! You can read all about it in the official press release.” The official press release was along standard lines. It said, “I am honored to be joining the ranks of top UB pros such as Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke. With the new direction and vision I know UB has for their future, this is an extremely exciting time to become a part of such an amazing team.”
The new direction and vision at UB.com involves hosting bounty tournaments with adult magazine centerfold models. Along with cash prizes players who knock out these women will receive autographed photographs. The adult entertainment industry and UB.com had come together earlier when the online poker room signed up the likes of Shanna Moakler and Samantha Ryan during 2010 WSOP.
