Joe Hachem Makes a Movie
The once lovable, cuddy little Koala Bear like Joe Hachem will now be the star of an independent film detailing his rise and win in the 2005 World Series of Poker. Directed by Cil Cates, Jr the film will have footage from his run at that event as well as personal moments that didn’t take place at the table.
Going back to his childhood years in Lebanon and his career as a physician the film will also cover his agonizing decision to leave his career behind due to a physical ailment. This is what lead him to become a poker player and one of the most famous Aussie poker icons of all time. With commentary by Jennifer Tilly and other poker professionals, the film will be called, appropriately enough, “Pass the Sugar”. This was the term that Hachem used whenever he would rake a big pot in the televised event.
The director is also a poker player who has had an interest in making movies for over 10 years now. He’s an award winner filmmaker so perhaps this could be a watchable flick.
The bigger question is, who really wants to watch Salty Joe anymore than we’ve already seen?
