Rizen and JohnnyBax Sign Over Their Souls
Two of the biggest online poker players have signed over their souls to the devil this week. Both Eric “Rizen” Lynch and Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy have inked deals with the site most hated by the poker community right now: Ultimate Bet.
The timing of the deal couldn’t have come at a worse time, as just a few weeks ago Ultimate Bet finally admitted to a cheating scandal with a player account (NioNio) that had the ability to see all player’s hole cards.
The two players are taking a lot of backlash right now for their decision to sign with Ultimate Bet which can be seen on both 2+2 and in Rizen’s own blog.
One commentor in Rizen’s blog summed up the situation perfectly: “I lost a lot of respect for you today. It is a sad day for poker.”
Like many things in the poker world, this will probably blow over, but for now they may see a decrease in the number of members joining JohnnyBax’s PokerXFactor (where Rizen is also a contributor). Hopefully they made enough off of the deal to cover this.
