Tiffany Michelle - Last Women Standing Jumps Ship

Tiffany MichelleTiffany Michelle’s online alias is “Hot Chips” and now we know why. Tiffany has overnight become the rave of the poker world and it is not just for being this year’s Last Woman Standing. Unfortunately she just now crashed out at 17th place, but for a while her fans thought that she would become only the second woman ever to reach the final table of the WSOP Main Event. The only woman to have done that was Barbara Enright in 1995. But this was Tiffany’s debut year in the Main Event and there will be opportunities in the years ahead.

What poker fans must not have failed to notice that Tiffany has taken the crown of the Last Woman Standing from Maria Ho, who is more than a very close friend. In fact the grapevine is giving that relationship another name and not without reason. In the 4th of July Bodog party Tiffany and Maria stunned the revelers by dancing close and slow. The song was appropriate and Tiffany took Maria in her arms. Maria said that Tiffany was the hottest female poker player and not just for her looks. Maybe she had a premonition about her friend’s impending achievement. More than close friends do have such visions about each other.

Tiffany’ achievement is noteworthy for several reasons. She is fairly new to tournament poker having started playing tournaments only in 2005. However she is adept at handling male domination at the tables because she grew up playing with her grandfather and brothers. According to her there is only one way to win games and that is by kicking ass and she went down kicking ass till the last.

Today PokerNews posted an interesting story about Tiffany and her “contract” with the Poker News Company. Apparently this rising pro and her manager sold out the PokerNews team and jumped ship to Ultimate Bet who is also in a lot of hot water for cheating players. PokerNews alleges her buy-ins were paid by them in a deal made prior to her recent success. While dominating the main event, Tiffany signed a sponsorship deal with UB and began sporting some UB gear as seen in our previous post “Last Women Standing in the WSOP”. PokerNews released a statement this morning claiming these allegations and dropping UB from their site. Too bad the company didn’t drop UB for cheating players out of millions instead of worrying about whose clothes Tiffany was wearing.
