Daniel Kelly is #7 of the Brunson 10
DoylesRoom has had an incredible run in the WSOP this year, though that luck has not spread to Doyle Brunson himself. Winnings among DoylesRoom players have reached over $2 million, and the main event is still to come. Daniel Kelly won a bracelet in event number 52, a $25,000 no limit holdem six-handed event. He won $1.3 millon, and is now the newest addition to the Brunson 10. David is a 21-year-old from Potomac, Maryland. His upset win against two-time bracelet winner Frank Kassela has made it clear that Daniel Kelly is a great choice for the Brunson 10. His rise to the Brunson 10 doesn’t exclude the possibility of another addition. In fact, the top points winner among the other three players will take a seat among the Brunson 10.
That leaves David Sands and Faraz Jaka very much in the running. Michael Martin will really have to pick up his game to win a place in the Brunson 10, but it’s not impossible. DoylesRoom.com spokesperson Julius Maxwell said “The Brunson 10 is even stronger today with the addition of Kelly and we’re excited to see what all seven members will do in the Main Event.” Of course, all eyes are also on the remaining three contestants. Under the terms of the “Become a Legend Leaderboard” competition, earning a bracelet instantly wins the player a place on the Brunson 10.
Maxwell said that “Doyle Brunson really knows how to pick them.” and indicated that if any of the other players who had won their entries through DoylesRoom made any impressive headway in the main event, it would earn them consideration for a place on the Brunson 10.
By the end of the competition, The Brunson 10 will consist of eight men. One certainly hopes that they’ll find a token female. Currently, the group is seriously missing a poker babe. It’s too bad that Annette Obrestad and Shannon Elizabeth are already taken. Doyle Brunson’s daughter, Pam, doesn’t seem to be enough of a womanly presence on the site, and let’s face it, we’d like to see more women playing in DoylesRoom!
