Mike McDonald Wins EPT Dortmund
He hasn’t even gotten rid of his braces, but at 18 Years Old Mike McDonald is quickly becoming a rising star in the poker world and is now the youngest player ever to win an EPT title. Entering the scene just 6 months ago, McDonald has already cashed in over $1.5 Million in the past 5 weeks.
McDonald, who hails from Waterloo, Ontario, Canada is only 3 semesters into his studies at the University of Waterloo. Yet in the past 5 weeks has probably made more than any entry level job would have paid him in 10 years.
He fought a long battle for 3 days this weekend at the EPT Dortmund, and after an exciting final hand was crowned the winner. In the final hand, German player Andreas Gulunay tried to bluff his way out of the pot. He bet hard on the flop of K-7-J to be called by McDonald. Another King came on the turn and yet again Andreas made a stab at the pot for $300k of his chips to which McDonald simply called. With a 2 on the river Andreas made one final attempt only to be called by McDonald who was very strong with his AK.
