Ryan Collett Leads Pokerstars Carribean Adventure (Day 1a)

Pokerstars Carribean Adventure

Day 1A has come to an end for the 2008 Pokerstars Carribean Adventure (PCA) and Ryan Collett of the United States currently has the lead. This is the same event that JJProdigy was banned from. Players are currently battling it out at the Atlantis Hotel in the Bahamas for an expected $2 Million Dollars for first place.

Here are the current results as of the end of Day 1a:

1) Ryan Collett (United States) – 176,450
2) Steve Paul-Ambrose (Canada) – 170,925
3) Diego Pérez (Spain) – 169,100
4) Stephan Kjerstad (Norway) – 144,575
5) Eric Lynch (United States) – 141,675
6) Joshua Ewing (United States) – 137,875
7) Johan Til (Netherlands) – 137,225
8) José Cuenca (Spain) – 129,950
9) Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier (France) 123,825
10) Allisen Connor (Canada) – 121,000

The 2007 event was won by Ryan Daut, who lasted through a field of 937 excellent poker players to eventually go heads-up with Isaac Haxton. Daut grinded his way down against Haxton’s 3-1 chip lead in an epic confrontation. Eventually he got all the chips in the pot holding A-10, which was good enough to hold up against Haxton’s Q-8. Daut received $1,535,255 in cash and a future as an online poker pro for his win. Not bad for a day at the beach.

Day 1B is going on right now, and we will post the results when they come in.
