Dutch Boyd Jacks Yet Another Domain Name

The dust still hasn’t settled over the dispute with PokerHost trying to snatch back pokerhost.net (they own the dot-com version only) from Dutch Boyd. Regardless, he’s now in a battle with cameraman Steve Hall, who takes great photos of players in action at events hosted in Las Vegas. He’s well known among pro players that play the circuit and very well respected. He ran a site called www.pokerfolio.com that hosted his pictures, which he would sell to help make a living.

Apparently, he let the domain expire without renewing and Dutch snapped it up on GoDaddy. There’s a public plea for help right now at 2P2 but I’m not so sure we should feel sorry for Steve here. It would appear that he let the domain expire and once that happens, in all honesty, it’s fair game. Dutch has allegedly stated that he would give it back to Steve for the token amount of money that he paid for it.

What’s interesting here is trying to figure out why this thing just now flared back up with the public plea. This took place earlier this year and all of the sudden it gets revived again, so Dutch is either being a dick and asking for an unreasonable amount of cash or Steve is just still pissed that he’s lost all of this web traffic. Regardless, it will be interesting to see how this pans out.
