“The Real Deal” from The Venetian
Taking “Play with the pros” to another level
Come this October any Joe off the street with 75 bucks in his pocket can buy a ticket to a new audience-participation show called “The Real Deal”. The 90-minute format show is complete with big name poker players, a comedian host, and cash and prizes up for grabs for anyone in the audience.
Funny Guy Paul Rodriguez, whose film credits include hits like “G-Men from Hell” and “BAADASSSSS” (no, I’m not kidding) will host the show. The supporting cast are the stars of the show however and The Venetian has signed on many local Vegas players to prop up the show. Daniel Negreanu, Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth, and none other than Mr. AA himself Scotty “The Prince of Poker” Nguyen are some of the big names that will join the show.
The show will feature two of the poker pros for each episode and six randomly picked audience members will join them in a 90-minute single table tournament. The remaining audience members will play along with wireless handheld devices that will allow them to play along. These folks can bet the hands as they’re played (audience members can see the flop on big monitors in the room) and if they lead the points at the end of the show can win prizes like jewelry and plasma televisions.
Ticket prices are set to range from $75.00 to $125.00 for VIP tickets, which will grant the holder backstage access. If Scotty is hosting the backstage party and The Venetian is providing the booze, sign me up!
